Minutes of November 19, 2005 Meeting
Sec. Bill Poleri in absent of Pres. Vinny Raso, Vice Pres. Steve Loyacano and Sgt.-at-Arms called the meeting to order and led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. A moment of silence followed for our deceased brothers, those that are ill, especially Frank Valentino, who was in attendance, and Mickey Grasso, and those in the services.
Duke Sella motioned to accept the Nov. 5th minutes. Mike Gileo seconded it. The motion carried. The club’s web sight is: http://leejpappas.com/goiia.htm (case sensitive, all lower case).
Treas. di Milo read the financial report for the Nov. 5th meeting. Incomes from the meeting were, Luncheon $288, and non-eaters, $15 for a total of $303. Luncheon expenses were $303. Other cost was gratuity, $27. Other incomes were Dues, $280; 50/50, $32, and Donations, Raso, $6 and Norman Panto, $6. The balance is $2679. Jimmy D’Arrigo motioned to accept. Nick Oliver seconded it. The motion carried.
OLD BUSINES: The treasurer reminded members of the Christmas Party for the Handicapped Children will be Dec. 17. Any one wishing to make a donation toward the cost of the party should make a check out to G.O.I.I.A. and bring it to the next meeting or mail to Treasurer Tony di Milo at Box 2028, Toluca Lake, CA 91610-0028.
Volunteers to work at the party are to contact Chairman di Milo.
The $35 dues for 2005/2006 are now due.
ANNOUNCEMENT – Poleri announced that Brother Joe Turcillo has moved his mother to an apartment and now has some furniture and appliances he is giving away. Dr. Turcillo said that some of the things are mattress and box spring, filing cabinets, washer and dryer and other items. The items are free but transportation is up to the recipient. Anyone interested is to contact him at (310) 456-6844.
John Murgo reported that Mickey Grasso isn’t doing too well. He is at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center, Room 60 Bed B, 14401 Huston St., Sherman Oaks, CA 91423; (818) 986-7242. Grasso is 91.
Sec. Poleri adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 3rd at Villa Sorrento followed by the Jan. 7th meeting. There will no meeting on Dec. 17 due to the children’s party.

POST MEETING REPORT- Brother Michael Grasso died Nov. 22 at 91. His niece informed Mike Policare that Mickey’s body will be cremated and taken to Miami, where the ashes will be spread in the Atlantic Ocean because he loved Miami and the water. There will be no memorial service locally, according to the niece.
