Minutes of July 19, 2003 Meeting
Sgt.-at-Arms Greg Holzer called the meeting to order. President Joe Picarella led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. A moment of silence followed for our deceased and ailing brothers and those in the services. Pres. Picarella then gave a prayer of thanks.
Chris Lanieri motioned to accept the minutes for June 28. Carmine Marinelli seconded it. The motion carried. The web sight is: http://leejpappas.com/goiia.htm (case sensitive, all lower case).
Treas. di Milo read the financial report. Incomes from June 28th meeting were: Luncheon, $420, and non-eaters, $10 for a total of $430. Luncheon expenses were $395 and gratuities, $20 for a gain of $25. Other incomes were 50/50 winnings, $37, and a pin, $5. Other expense was post card postage, $96. Balance is $4099.10. Joey Dorando motioned to accept. Larry Mascari seconded it. The motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS - Members asked where are their shirts and caps. No answer was given since Roger Pisarra was not in attendance. Treasurer di Milo suggested members call Pisarra, whose phone number is in the club phone directory. Pres. Picarella added that he brought his grandson to the meeting so he could pick up his hat.
NEW BUSINESS - di Milo advised the membership that he is looking into restaurants for the club annual dinner. Among the places is Charlie's G, where we dined twice.
The treasurer is also looking into a date for the annual picnic and will report back at the next meeting.
John Occhiuto won the 50/50 and donated his $55 to the club.
Picarella adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 at the Villa Sorrento, followed by the August 16th meeting.
