Minutes of January 21, 2006 Meeting

Sgt.-at-Arms Greg Holzer called the meeting to order. Vice Pres. Steve Loyacano led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. A moment of silence followed for our deceased brothers, those that are ill, especially Frank Valentino and Treasurer Tony di Mil, who is in the hospital and those in the services.

Jimmy D’Arrigo motioned to accept the Jan. 7th minutes. Ronnie La Barbera seconded it. The motion carried. The club’s web sight is http://goiia.pbwiki.com/ (case sensitive, all lower case).

Sec. Bill Poleri announced that there would be no financial report due to Treas. di Milo hospitalization. Poleri said that di Milo was admitted to St. Joseph’s Hospital, Burbank, a few days ago because he lost three fifths of his blood. He had bleeding ulcers caused from coated aspirins, which he has been taking for the past 11 years , ever since he had his bypasses. Poleri said that di Milo is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Monday.

Poleri really felt what happened to di Milo was that he dated a beautiful lady, who turned out to be a vampire. Mr. Nice Guy di Milo accommodated her with three pints of blood.

The $35 dues for 2005/2006 are now due. A March 4th dateline has been issued. Anyone not paid up by then would be dropped from the club.

REMINDER: At the Jan. 7th meeting, the club enacted a new rule on dues, which are due mid-October (Columbus Day). Members who aren’t paid up within 60 days from that date will be notified that if they don’t pay by Jan. 1, they will be dropped from the club. The rule starts in October.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

Vice. Loyacano adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 4th at Villa Sorrento followed by the Feb. 18th meeting.
