GRANDSONS OF ITALY IN AMERICA

 

Minutes of August 7, 2004 Meeting

 

Acting Sgt.-at-Arms Chris Lanieri called the meeting to order. President Joe Picarella led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. A moment of silence was observed for our deceased brothers and those who are ill and in the services.

 

OLD BUSINESS: None.

 

HEALTH REPORT: Michael Grasso is now home. Frank Valentino and Roger Pisarra are reported okay now.

Pres. Picarella adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on May 15 at the Villa Sorrento, followed by the June 5th meeting.

 

FINANCIAL REPORT: See notes 1 & 2

 

Leo Matranga won the lottery of $35 and donated it to the club.

 

NEW BUSINESS: None.

 

Pres. Picarella adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday Sept. 18 at the Villa Sorrento.

 

  • (NOTE 1: This was something of a short meeting. I apologize for not publishing the Financial Report but I suddenly had to drop everything to go to New York and evidently had misplaced my copy and in the sudden rush of travel arrangements, medical appointments and increased prescriptions, etc. I couldn’t get Tony di Milo in time for another copy. So you can give me ten lashes with double-strength lasagna.)

FINANCIAL REPORT: Treas. di Milo read the financial report. Incomes from July 17th meeting were Luncheon, $264, and non-eaters, $5 for a total of $269. Luncheon expenses were $300 and gratuities $5, for a loss of $36. Other income was 50/50 winnings, $30; Pin, $10, and Mike Ardizone’s Donation, $3. Expenses were Postage, $46. Balance is $3774.28.

 

Pres. Raso adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 6th at the Villa Sorrento, followed by the Nov. 20th meeting.
