Minutes of April 1, 2006 Meeting

Sgt.-at-Arms Greg Holzer called the meeting to order. Sec. Bill Poleri led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer. A moment of silence followed for our deceased brothers, those that are ill, especially Frank Valentino, Chicky Russo, Steve (Lord) Loyacano and Jimmy D’Arrigo’s wife who is in the hospital and those in the services. Chicky Russo said he feels fine. The members offered their prayers and good wishes to Rocky Vitalia, who announced he is going to have surgery this coming week.

Nick Oliver motioned to accept the March 18th minutes. Rocco Telese seconded it. The motion carried. The club’s web site is now:

Treas. di Milo read the financial report for the March 18th meeting. Incomes from the Luncheon were $240 and non-eaters, $12 for a total of $252. Luncheon expenses were $300 and gratuity, $22 for a loss of $48. Other incomes were Dues, $105; 50/50, $32, and Len Indelicato’s donation of his 50/50 winnings, $33. The balance is $2419.34. Larry Mascari motioned to accept. Ronnie LaBarbera seconded it. The motion carried.

Treas. Tony di Milo reported on Vice Pres. Steve Loyacano’s condition. Loyacano, who is visiting his mother-in-law in Wales, fell down a flight of stairs and broke his collarbone and eight ribs. di Milo said he is still in the hospital in Wales. NEW BUSINESS: None.

OLD BUSINESS: Vince Corbo reported on the progress of the club’s new web site. Its address is www.goiia.com. He said the site is set up. Vitalia asked if he can attach his web site, Corbo said he would add members sites. Corbo said he saw pictures from John Murgo’s photo gallery of club’s events. He would also add them to the site. He also asked for other pictures, especially of members’ grandfathers and any other item members may want in it. “Give me stuff,” he said, “keep it building.”

ANNOUNCEMENT: Treas. di Milo reminded members of Pres. Vinny Raso’s upcoming play, a comedy by William Van Zant called “Lie, Cheat and Genuflect,” which is set for March 29-31 and Apr. 1 at 8 p.m. and Apr. 2 at 2 p.m. at Leisure Village in Camarillo. For reservations call Raso at (805) 383-3635. Carpooling was discussed, using the limo, which Greg Holzer drives. Anyone interested should call di Milo at (818) 907-6777.

Sec. Poleri adjourned the meeting. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. on April 15th at Villa Sorrento followed by the May 6th meeting.
